NFL fans are dunking on Lamar Jackson and Deshaun Watson in the wake of Jalen Hurts reportedly agreeing to the biggest deal in NFL history.
Hurts, a second-round pick in 2020, took over the reins from Carson Wentz towards the end of that year and became a full-time starter in 2021 following Wentz getting traded to the Indianapolis Colts. He went 14-1 as a starter in 2022, missing two games with a shoulder injury, also taking the Eagles all the way to the Super Bowl.
The 24-year-old has gone 23-11 in all starts and his performances from last season have seen him rewarded with a five-year deal worth $255 million. This is all while Jackson is struggling to land an extension with the Baltimore Ravens – it also bests Watson’s $230 million deal with the Browns, though the latter’s contract is fully guaranteed.
Jackson has now become the talk of NFL social media in the wake of Hurts’ extension, while Watson is also trending as a secondary. You could see some of the reactions right below:

Hurts has also made Eagles history as his contract is understood to be inclusive of a no-trade clause, the first one ever handed to a Philadelphia player.
Hurts was an MVP candidate last season after throwing for 3,701 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions, having also rushed for 760 yards and 12 TDs.
