We are now getting details on what Lamar Jackson wants in his new contract.
Jackson doesn’t necessarily want a fully guaranteed deal, per ESPN’s Dan Graziano.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler added Jackson isn’t demanding a fully guaranteed contract. He just wants a guaranteed portion of it to be larger than what Deshaun Watson received.
“I no longer believe Jackson was insisting that his deal be fully guaranteed — just that the guaranteed portion of it be larger than Watson’s,” Fowler wrote.
Fowler then went on to add that Jackson is “frustrated” by the Ravens’ negotiating tactics. That would explain why he requested a trade for them earlier this month.
Days later, the team would place the non-exclusive franchise tender on him, meaning that other teams can try to offer sheet him. However, the Ravens can match it or get two first round picks from the team.
