Two of New York’s football teams are working out a former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman this week.
La’el Collins, who also played for the Cincinnati Bengals, had a visit with the Jets and is set to have another with the Giants today, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Collins remains a free agent following his release from Cincinnati, having started the 2023 NFL season on the physically unable to perform list due to a torn ACL he sustained in December. The 30-year-old started 15 games for the Bengals last season, but they still signed left tackle Orlando Brown Jr., moving Jonah Williams to the right.
Collins spent the first six years of his career in Dallas, playing in 74 games for the NFC outfit. He only made three appearances in the 2016 season due to a toe injury, with five of the games he missed coming as a result of a suspension.
He would likely step in as a huge addition to the Jets’ O-line given their struggles this season. The team will be without Alijah Vera-Tucker for the rest of the campaign following a torn Achilles, compounding their issues.

The Giants are also in need of a boost when it comes to quarterback protection and could use a player of Collins’ ilk given the way results have gone this season.
