It appears their is a divorce coming soon with Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals.
When Kyler Murray took the time to completely delete any and all traces of the Arizona Cardinals from his social media accounts, it was something worth paying attention to. The two-time Pro Bowl quarterback reduced his Instagram page to only two pictures — neither referencing his team — and also scrubbed his Twitter, including changing his avi to one that features him in an Oklahoma and Oakland A’s jersey.
On Sunday morning, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported that some in the organization view him as immature and self-centered. He also reported that Murray is frustrated with the franchise after the wild-card loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Things have seemingly been heated since their early playoff exit. Per NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Murray took himself out of the playoff game against the Rams with a minute left and the team did not like that.
“There’s a minute left, the game had been decided, and backup Colt McCoy encouraged Murray to finish the game with his teammates, but a banged-up Murray said no,” Garafolo said. “I know a lot of Cardinals folks were not happy with that one.”

Additionally, it’s reported that veterans are reaching out to Murray in an attempt to help him learn to deal with adversity and head coach Kliff Kingsbury is working to see what more he can do to help the young quarterback.
“Nothing has changed regarding our opinion and high regard for Kyler Murray,” said the team in an official statement, via Pro Football Talk. “We as a team and Kyler individually have improved each year he’s been in the league. We are excited to continue that improvement in 2022, and are excited that Kyler Murray is the quarterback leading us.”
It was only two short months ago that Murray and the Cardinals were flying high with a league-best record of 10-2, but then they would lose five of their final six games and now things have just gotten even worse early in the offseason.
Murray is also eligible for a contract extension this offseason, but we’re not even sure that he wants to be with the team.
UPDATE: Murray has since released a statement:
