It’s believed that Kyler Murray could miss the entire 2023 season following an interesting trade made by the Arizona Cardinals this week.
Murray suffered a torn ACL last December and remains in recovery. Following a very busy Thursday in Arizona during which the team acquired a new quarterback, rumor has it that Murray won’t play a single snap in the upcoming campaign.
The Cards traded for Joshua Dobbs on the day, sending a late-round 2024 draft to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for the veteran.
A starting QB hasn’t been named ahead of the quickly approaching season. Colt McCoy could be the one to get the nod – but David Blough, who joined the team after Murray’s injury is also in the conversation. Arizona also brought in Jeff Driskel this offseason.
Now, there’s even more work to do in terms of making a decision on who starts as yet another signal-caller has been acquired. Dobbs was Deshaun Watson’s backup in Cleveland but could be the main man for his new team in 2023 as Cardinals GM knows him from their time together with the Titans, while he also worked with the team’s offensive coordinator Drew Petzing, who was a quarterbacks coach with the Browns.
