The Arizona Cardinals have made a decision on if they’ll deal Kyler Murray or not ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, several clubs “could be interested in” the 26-year-old quarterback. However, Russini reported that the Cardinals aren’t even “shopping” Murray, who’s set to make his season debut in the not-so-distant future.
Murray hasn’t outright requested a trade, but the Cardinals have gone a disappointing 1-7 without their star quarterback. With Arizona in position to win the Caleb Williams sweepstakes, or to at least select another stud QB prospect in next year’s draft, many wonder if Murray is on borrowed him in Arizona.
But as it turns out, that question will not be answered any time soon. Murray, who’s still recovering from surgery on a torn ACL he suffered last December, could return for Sunday’s Week 9 contest against the Cleveland Browns.
Of course, Murray could return with a vengeance and answer that question for the Cardinals over the second half of the season. If he plays well and/or if he racks up wins and takes Arizona out of the Williams sweepstakes, the organization will likely keep him around.

Arizona will have two first-round picks in next year’s draft, as they own the Houston Texans’ pick via the trade up for Will Anderson Jr. As such, there’s a case to be made that Arizona should keep Murray and use those two first-round picks to build around him.
