Kyle Shanahan seems to have an issue with Jimmy Garoppolo making terrible decision.
That was evident when the 49ers had a chance to go into halftime of Super Bowl 2020 with a lead, but instead Shanahan opted for the overly conservative route and settled for the 10-10 tie with the Chiefs at the break.
There was a reason for that.
There have been multiple reports this offseason of the 49ers parting ways with Jimmy G in favor of a 42-year-old Tom Brady and it may have something to do with how head coach Kyle Shanahan views his 28-year-old QB.
Via NBC Boston:
“Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan likes Garoppolo, I’ve been told by multiple sources that he’s got some reservations about Garoppolo’s ceiling and overall decision making. “Enough to use the emergency exit the Niners built into Garoppolo’s contract? That would be a bold move. But ask yourself: Why is the option to move on from Garoppolo with minimal penalty even there? Just in case? In case of what?”
Brady is scheduled to become a free agent March 18th and has been rumored to have as many as eight teams that are willing to take him on at his advanced age.
