The San Francisco 49ers lost Monday night to the Seattle Seahawks, but it could’ve had a different outcome if their wide receivers held on to some catchable passes.
The 49ers had some nine drops on Monday night, with Kendrick Bourne dropping 2, with one coming on a key 3rd down and another that led to an interception. Dante Pettis also had two key drops, including one late in overtime that should have set up a shorter third down as the 49ers tried to win the game.
Not only did the fans notice, but head coach Kyle Shanahan did so as well as he discussed it with reporters and even blasting Pettis with criticism.
Dropping passes is a good way to lose your role in the offense. Shanahan as well as Jimmy G has every right to be upset as even 3 catches on the nine drops could’ve changed the outcome of the game.
