Kyle Brandt didn’t mince words when discussing one of the AFC’s top teams on “Good Morning Football” today.
Brandt was analyzing the Miami Dolphins-Kansas City Chiefs Week 9 contest in Frankfurt, Germany, that saw Patrick Mahomes and company escape with a tight 21-14 victory.
While Kansas City improved to 7-2 on the year, Mike McDaniel’s Dolphins fell to 6-3. That record doesn’t seem concerning on paper until you remember that the Dolphins are now 0-3 against teams that are above .500.
“As for Miami, I love you, but you are not serious people. You’re the AFC Cowboys…you guys are perfect together.”
“You’re in a certain weight class where you seem to be bumping your head against the ceiling. It’s very Cowboys-like. Maybe you’ll fix it, maybe you’ll get better. But right now, you’re a very good team…you’re not serious people.”
Brandt noted that the Chiefs are averaging a mere 17 points per game in games against teams above .500, but a whopping 39 PPG against clubs with a losing record.
After starting out 3-0, Miami was handed its first loss of 2023 against the Buffalo Bills (currently 5-4) in Week 4 by a final score of 48-20. Three weeks later, they were soundly defeated by the 8-1 Philadelphia Eagles 31-17).

Miami had a chance to cement themselves as a true threat to Mahomes and the defending champions on Sunday, but they fell short in a sloppy contest that saw Kansas City’s defense limit Tua Tagovailoa and company to 292 yards of offense.
Despite the loss, Miami remains a game up on Buffalo for first in the AFC East. They’ll now head into their Week 10 bye before coming back to South Beach for a Week 11 contest against the Las Vegas Raiders.
