A video of a kid heckling Cam Newton had gone viral and showed how the NFL MVP and Heisman Trophy winner handled it with class.
“You a free agent,” the young player says repeatedly. After Newton responds by saying, “I’m rich,” the teen says, “You about to be poor.”
Among the many people who did not like what the kid said was Kwame Brown. The former NBA player took to YouTube and stated the young kid needed to be slapped to learn some respect.
“If a kid walked up to a coach Cam Newton size and talked like that boy talked to Cam Newton….Back in my day, that coach would’ve slapped the living shit out of him.”
“If Cam Newton would’ve slapped the hell out of that little boy, like he deserved, yall would’ve took his money.”

Newton would later post a video of a later conversation he had with the heckler, one that took a calmer tone. Newton starts by saying, “If you wanted some attention, I’m gonna give you attention, in the right way, bro.”
“People want to see me arguing with another young man and to see me get in my feelings … but the truth is this, I impact kids’ lives in a positive way, make no mistake,” Newton wrote in the caption.
