Over the weekend, Kliff Kingsbury decided to switch things up and make Kyler Murray the offensive play-caller.
The Arizona Cardinals coach wanted to get one thing straight with Kyler, “This shit ain’t easy.”
Kingsbury gave Murray a chance to call plays in practice and decided he would never want to play for Murray.
“I just wanted him to know that, hey, this shit ain’t easy,” Kingsbury said. “Every now and then, he starts shaking his head when I’m calling it in there, I’m like, ‘Alright big dog.’”
Kingsbury added that Murray was radioing plays into the quarterbacks’ helmet speakers and then continuing to talk to them while the plays were going on, making it difficult for them to concentrate.
“I would not want to play for Kyler Murray if I was a quarterback and he was the coach,” Kingsbury joked.

Late last month, the Arizona Cardinals removed the “independent study” clause from QB Kyler Murray‘s contract after so much backlash.
Murray held an impromptu press conference to address the fallout regarding the news that there’s a clause in his new contract that requires him to study at least four hours a week.
“To think that I can accomplish everything that I’ve accomplished in my career and not be a student of the game and not have that passion and not take this serious, it’s almost…it’s disrespectful and it’s almost a joke,” Murray said, via TheAthletic.
“I’m flattered. I’m honestly flattered that y’all think that, at my size, I can go out there and not prepare for the game and not take it serious.”
In 2021, Murray appeared in 14 games for the Cardinals and completed 69.2 percent of his passes for 3,787 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He also rushed for 423 yards and five touchdowns.
