Russell Wilson lost this game for the Denver Broncos. No doubt about it.
There were numerous plays we could point to in order to prove this point, but none are more evident than on the final play of the game.
Facing a 4th-and-1 from the Colts’ five-yard line late in overtime, the Broncos needed a field-goal to tie the game…but they opted to go for the touchdown to win it. Wilson attempted to hit Courtland Sutton in the middle of the end zone, but it was broken up by Colts corner Stephon Gilmore.
It was a difficult throw for Russ to make — and obviously one that he wasn’t capable of making.
Perhaps he should have went with the much easier throw to K.J. Hamler, who was wide open…right in front of Russ’ face…with a clear path into the end zone.

You think Hamler felt as though he was open and his quarterback blew it? Just check out his reaction.
And he still wasn’t over it when he talked to the NFL Network’s James Palmer, telling him “I could have walked in.”
When the team watches this game film, I hope Wilson and Hamler aren’t in the same room… AWKWARD!!!
