NFL quarterbacks are the only ones hogging the spotlight so far this offseason. Some of the broadcast booth’s biggest names are also moving around at an unbelievable rate.
Troy Aikman and Joe Buck were just a couple of the latest announcers to make significant changes, as both will be going from Fox to ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast booth. And now it appears as though another big signing has been made in the television world, as Amazon has reportedly added Kirk Herbstreit to their Thursday Night Football crew.
According to the New York Post’s Andrew Marchand, Herbstreit signed the deal with Amazon on Friday. He will likely be joined in the TNF broadcast booth by Al Michaels, who is said to be very close to signing his three-year, $33-million deal with Amazon.
The good news for college football fans (or bad news, depending on your feelings towards him) is that Herbstreit will still be a part of ESPN’s College GameDay (no word on whether or not this will also include his weekly duties in the booth for ESPN’s College Football on ABC broadcast.
Herbstreit wasn’t the only one to ink a deal with a new station on Friday, as Joe Buck signed with ESPN after being given permission to talk with them by Fox.
