There’s a new top dog in football and we are not talking about a team.
Ben, a golden retriever owned by Kirk Herbstreit, became an instant fan favorite throughout college football and now he has been introduced to the NFL.
Herbstreit takes Ben to games that he broadcasts during the year, so on the final Thursday Night Football game of the season, Herbstreit brought Ben onto the broadcast.
Late in Thursday’s game between the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns, Ben made his way into the booth with Herbstreit and Al Michaels as he wore his own headset for the game.
Ben is back on the road now and is on his way to North Texas and Southern California, as Herbstreit will make a stop at the Cotton Bowl on Friday before broadcasting the Rose Bowl on Monday.
Led by quarterback Joe Flacco, the Browns defeated the New York Jets 37-20 to clinch their first postseason appearance since 2020 and only their third since returning to the NFL in 1999.

Flacco, who turns 39 next month, completed 19 of his 29 passes for 309 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.
The team still has an outside shot at the No. 1 seed, a bye week, and home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.
