“Last night myself and these 3 absolute heroes helped save a man’s life by rescuing him from a vehicle up in flames after a bad crash,” Osborn wrote on Twitter. “A situation I’d never imagine being a part of in a million years.”
The 25-year-old was in an Uber after a workout in Austin, Texas when he informed his driver that a car had crashed under a bridge and burst into flames, he said on The Adam Schefter Podcast.
“My Uber driver just starts going crazy. He’s like, ‘Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!’ I look up, and I’m wondering what’s all the fuss about,” Osborn said. “He’s like, ‘This guy crashed,’ and I look to my right and there’s a car, if you were to picture it, under a bridge’s pillars. His car is head-on. He hit the pillar and his car is in flames.”
Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins saw the news and took to Twitter to deliver an awesome reaction to the type of person Osborne is.
“This is totally on-brand for @KJ_Osborn. Just a tremendous person & teammate,” Cousins tweeted.

Osborn’s Uber driver initially wanted to just call 911, but the WR saw how serious the situation was and knew they needed to take immediate action.
“I’m like, ‘No, we got to go save this guy,” Osborn said.
That’s when the Uber driver rushed over to the vehicle, which prompted Osborn to follow in step to assist the two other bystanders. Once they opened the door, all four people banded together to pull the man out to safety. Once the man was pulled out of the car, Osborn and the others were able to carry the injured man about “10, 15 yards” away from the burning car as he bled all over his shirt.
Soon, emergency personnel arrived on the scene and were able to put out the fire and transport the injured man to a hospital via ambulance.
Osborn said he plans on visiting the man he saved in the hospital.
