Tom Brady is on his second retirement, and this one has lasted a lot longer than the first.
It appears the seven-time Super Bowl winner is really done this time. But, sometimes, all that’s needed for some rife comeback speculation is for someone who plays in the position that you used to play in to go down with a long-term injury.
That’s become the case this season as the Minnesota Vikings have lost starting QB Kirk Cousins to a torn Achilles, with the four-time Pro Bowl signal-caller getting hurt during his team’s Week 8 matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
The Vikings are still in the mix for the playoffs at 4-4, having won that game 24-10. But given that they’ve lost Cousins for the rest of the season, their prospects are looking grim.
Fortunately, there’s a wily, old veteran out there who has the most Super Bowl-winning experience of any other ex-player and isn’t all that far removed from playing his last professional game. Might the Vikings give him a call?
Folks online certainly seem to think it’s within the realm of possibility.

As to whether TB12 would consider coming out of retirement for the Vikings is unknown. But there is an opportunity as he still hasn’t become a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, which leaves him free to play for any team he wants to as long as they come knocking.
