On Thursday, the National Football League officially released the 2020 schedule for the upcoming season, so that meant that sports talk shows had plenty of stuff to talk about for hours.
Following the release, various players from around the league joined various media outlets to talk about their schedules and that included Kirk Cousins speaking with ESPN.
The Minnesota Vikings quarterback shifted from talking about the Vikings’ schedule to players who receive the franchise tag – namely Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
That’s when he gave some advice to him:
“Anybody who I run into who’s been franchise tagged, we have one on our team this year in Anthony Harris, I believe the franchise tag can be your friend,” Cousins said on ESPN on Thursday night. “…So my message to Dak, when I saw him midseason last year, was, ‘Hey, whatever happens, don’t be afraid of the tag. It can be your friend, and you can use it to your advantage.’”
As member of the Washington Redskins — Cousins was placed under the tag twice and earned over $42 million before signing a huge deal with the Vikings.

It worked out for him and it just might work out for Dak.
