Without Justin Jefferson, the Minnesota Vikings could’ve easily folded and fell to 1-5 on the year and basically ended all hope of trying to make it to the postseason this year.
The Minnesota Vikings needed to do something to shake things up after their 1-4 start. You probably didn’t expect Creed to turn around the Vikings season, but they did and it worked.
After beating the Bears at Soldier Field on Sunday, Kirk Cousins said center Garrett Bradbury played one of their songs in the pregame locker room, which he jokingly noted might’ve made the difference.
Cousins revealed that Creed’s 1999 hit “Higher” was the tune that pumped up the Vikings.
“Garrett Bradbury, in the locker room pregame, took a clip from the Texas Rangers and made sure that Creed got played before we went out on the field,” Cousins said. “And I felt like that may have made the difference. So we’ve got that going for us.”
“They’ve got quite a catalog,” Cousins added, via Inside the Vikings. “We started with ‘Higher’ this week. We didn’t want to overstep our bounds. So just one ‘Higher.’ Next week, maybe we can see what we go to from there.”

Kirk certainly did not have his typical game.
Cousins completed 21 of 31 passes for 181 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Vikings’ 19-13 win over the Bears on Sunday. He also rushed twice for minus-5 yards and committed two fumbles, losing one.
The veteran signal-caller was able to do just enough to help the Vikings squeeze out a close victory. In Jefferson’s absence, Cousins spread the ball around to six different targets.
He might have a tougher time with a matchup against the 49ers in a Monday night Week 7 home showdown on Oct. 23.
