After the Ravens big Week 16 win over the 49ers, Keyshawn Johnson says Lamar Jackson has locked up the NFL MVP Award.
Former All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman had a different take on the matter that caused one of his co-hosts to walk off set.
Sherman argued that either Tyreek Hill or Christian McCaffrey is the MVP of the league.
“Josh Allen has 40 total touchdowns right now. Does that mean he’s the MVP? No, it does not,” Sherman said. “He’s accounted for 83 percent of his team’s touchdowns, 83. No QB is more important to their team right now than Josh Allen is to the Buffalo Bills. So you can argue whatever you want to argue, you can walk off, because that means you don’t have the power to make a conscious argument.
“The Baltimore Ravens’ defense had five turnovers last night. When we watch that game, and you watch them play against one of the best offenses in the NFL and they have five turnovers and you tell me, ‘Lamar Jackson is the reason they won that game,’ then I have a hard time with that.”
Amid his argument was Johnson walking off the set before he eventually returned.
Lamar Jackson has overtaken San Francisco’s Brock Purdy in the MVP race after leading the Ravens to a dominant 33-19 road win against the 49ers on Christmas Day. Jackson, the 2019 MVP, threw for 252 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 45 yards as the Ravens improved to 12-3.

The dual-threat Jackson has 3,357 passing yards through 15 games along with 19 passing touchdowns against just seven interceptions.
Christian McCaffrey, who played on the other side, rushed 14 times for 103 yards and a touchdown while adding six receptions and 28 receiving yards.
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill made it a point before the season started that he wanted to be the first player in NFL history to record 2,000 receiving yards in a season.
Through 14 games played, Hill has an NFL-leading 1,641 receiving yards. He has to put up some video game-like numbers to make that happen and he just might win that MVP award.
