Everybody’s favorite sports announcer did not fail to deliver in the defining moment of Super Bowl 58 on Sunday.
Kevin Harlan has long been one of the most beloved voices in sports because of his extra enthusiasm and unique delivery during epic games. Harlan, who works for both CBS and TNT, once again got to call the Super Bowl on the radio for Westwood One Sports.
And when Patrick Mahomes threw the game-winning touchdown to Mecole Hardman in overtime? Harlan simply did not disappoint in delivering perhaps the greatest call of his illustrious commentary career:
CBS got to broadcast Super Bowl 58, with Jim Nantz and Tony Romo on the call in the broadcast booth. This was the third Super Bowl the duo called together, having also done Super Bowl 53 (Patriots vs. Rams) and Super Bowl 55 (Buccaneers vs. Chiefs).
The Chiefs’ 25-22 victory in overtime secured the franchise’s third Super Bowl championship in five years, officially cementing them as a dynasty. As for Kyle Shanahan’s San Francisco 49ers, the heartbreak continues with two Super Bowl defeats and as many losses in the NFC title game over the past five years.
