Kerryon Johnson only played four seasons in the National Football League and he’s blaming just who you’d expect for that fact.
A second-round pick by Detroit in 2018, knee issues impacted Johnson’s first two seasons. He would be waived by the Lions’ new regime after the 2021 draft.
Johnson was out of the NFL last season, and he has not even surfaced in the USFL or XFL.
He is only 25 years old.
On Twitter, Johnson was asked on social media why he is not playing football.
“Because playing for a military general left me down 2 knees and a neck”

Johnson is pointing the finger right at former Lions head coach Matt Patricia for his not being able to play football anymore. This shouldn’t be a shock as players like Darius Slay and Quandre Diggs have spoken out about Patricia as well. They regularly shared their opinions about negative experiences with Patricia and the “Patriot Way” mentality that was adopted in Detroit.
Whatever Patricia did to Johnson cost him his longest possible football-playing career.
During his time with the Lions, Kerryon Johnson appeared in 34 games, rushed for 1,225 yards, and scored eight touchdowns. He was placed on injured reserve twice during his tenure in Detroit.
