The Baltimore Ravens have made a big change to their roster after cutting a player this week.
On Tuesday, the Ravens signed veteran safety Andrew Adams to the practice squad and released running back Kenyan Drake to open up a spot.
Drake, who was released by the team to make room for Adams, was only just signed a few weeks ago. This was his second stint with the team after previously joining on a one-year deal in 2022. He started five of 12 appearances last season and rushed for 482 yards on 4.4 yards per carry with a touchdown.
This season, he played just 12 total offensive snaps combined for the Ravens in Week 3 and Week 4. Against the Indianapolis Colts, Drake caught two passes for 31 yards, but he did lose a fumble. He did not record a stat in the team’s win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Drake entered the NFL from Alabama’s 2015 CFP national championship team as a third-round draft selection of the Miami Dolphins in 2016.
There’s a chance he could find a new home before the season is done. He isn’t far removed from a 2020 campaign where he topped 1,000 yards from scrimmage and scored 10 touchdowns.

In his previous seven NFL seasons, Drake had 3,866 yards and 33 touchdowns on 867 carries and caught 216 passes for 1,639 yards and eight touchdowns in 101 regular-season games. He has also returned 41 kickoffs for one touchdown and a 23.5-yard average.
