The Mitch Trubisky experiment in Pittsburgh is officially over after 4 games and a 1-3 record that has the team currently in last place in the AFC North division.
The Steelers are expected to replace veteran quarterback Mitch Trubisky as their starter after less than four full games in favor of rookie Kenny Pickett, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Monday.
Pickett, who was selected 20th overall by the Steelers in April’s NFL Draft, will likely make his first start on Sunday against the Bills.
On Tuesday, his longtime girlfriend, Amy Paternoster, took to his Instagram story to share her excited reaction to the news.
“Absolutely beaming with pride for my man,” she said on an Instagram story. Can’t wait to se all you have yet to accomplish, Here We Go.”

On Sunday, Pickett responded by completing 10 of 13 attempts for 120 yards, with three interceptions and two rushing touchdowns.
Pickett will be the first rookie quarterback to start for the team since Devlin Hodges started six games in the 2019 season.
Unless Pickett completely falls off the map, Trubisky, the second-overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, will be regulated to a back-up role for the rest of the year.
