The Patriots lost by 35 points in Dallas last week and haven’t scored a touchdown in 10 quarters.
On Sunday, the team played against the New Orleans Saints and could not score a single point as they got destroyed on their home field. In one of the most dominating performances in team history, the New Orleans Saints routed the New England Patriots 34-0 Sunday in Foxborough.
For the second straight game, Mac Jones was benched in favor of Bailey Zappe after getting knocked for three turnovers once again.
When asked what’s going wrong after Sunday’s game, wide receiver Kendrick Bourne responded, “I don’t know, man.”
He then expanded on his comments.
“I keep saying it: I feel like we have to work harder,” Bourne said, per NESN’s Zack Cox. “More effort. We need more effort. And I’m not speaking of anybody. It just feels like we need to want it more. That’s just the energy out there. We need more energy.”

Bourne finished Sunday’s shutout with two catches and only 43 yards on the day.
He called on his teammates to “practice better” and “work harder.”
“It’s all about hard work,” Bourne said. “I feel like we’ve got to work harder in practice. We’ve got to try harder and just do better individually, personally, and as a group.”
“I feel like the plays were there,” Bourne said. “We’ve just got to make them. Sometimes we’ve got to make harder catches or whatever it may be, but I feel like the plays were there. A lot of them showed themselves. We’ve just got to finish.”
Patriots starting quarterback Mac Jones completed only 12 of 22 pass attempts for 110 yards with two interceptions. Derek Carr had two scoring passes as Alvin Kamara rushed for a touchdown to become the Saints’ career TD leader.
The Patriots are now 1-4 on the season, and 0-3 at Gillette Stadium. The Saints move to 3-2 on the year.
