Sunday’s battle between the Las Vegas Raiders and New England Patriots had no shortage of drama. And while everyone is talking about the crazy final play that handed the Raiders the win, there was one other significant moment in the contest that is still receiving quite a bit of attention.
Trailing 24-17 with less than two minutes remaining, the Raiders needed a touchdown to tie things up. And they got in when Derek Carr hit Keelan Cole in the back of the end zone from 30-yards out.
The catch was ruled a touchdown on the field, and while replays appeared to show that Cole had in fact stepped out of bounds, every video of the play seemed to be inconclusive, causing the play to stand.
Fast forward to today, and it looks like the New England Patriots did in fact get royally screwed.
In the high definition photo below, it clearly looks like Cole’s toe was out of bounds. If you look closely, you can see the black part on the tip of the wideout’s shoe on the white out-of-bounds line.
