New England Patriots’ rookie wide receiver Kayshon Boutte did not hold back in voicing his frustrations with the team ahead of Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Bill Belichick curiously made Boutte a healthy scratch for Week 6, even though the team is banged up at wide receiver. JuJu Smith-Schuster and Demario Douglas were ruled out for Sunday’s game as they both remain in concussion protocol.
Boutte took to Instagram to express his unhappiness with Belichick’s puzzling roster decision. He posted a story that read “Free me,” before quickly deleting it. You can see a screenshot of the story below:
Belichick and his “Patriot Way” put an emphasis on keeping things behind closed doors, so he certainly won’t appreciate Boutte’s Instagram activity. But it’s also safe to guess that the LSU product won’t care if Belichick cuts or trades him, seeing how the Patriots aren’t even giving Boutte an opportunity.
The 21-year-old Boutte was drafted in the sixth round (187th overall) back in April. Boutte hasn’t played since the Week 1 opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, where he didn’t record a single catch on four targets.
New England is off to an ugly 1-4 start, and it’s going to take an absolute miracle for them to climb back in the playoff race. For now, the focus is on ending a two-game losing skid in Sin City.
