Kay Adams is prone to slipping up in front of the camera, so it’s not hard to imagine her struggling to pronounce the word “Louisville,” especially as it’s not that easy to pronounce if you aren’t from the South.
The former host of Good Morning Football, who now hosts her own “Up & Adams” show, has gone viral online for her attempts while in the capital for this weekend’s Kentucky Derby.
We can’t claim to be experts on pronunciation when it comes to Louisville so we’ll just have to go with Cass Anderson’s “Loo-uh-vul.” We can also safely say that “Low-ville” is incorrect.
Adams is from Chicago, which isn’t that far from Louisville – should take 4-5 hours to or from – but that hardly makes it easier. People from the two locations are as far from each other as it gets when it comes to accents. So we can’t blame Kay.
The popular sports personality will be on Derby duty this weekend and will be reporting live with former NFL star Warren Moon. She’ll probably find plenty of time to learn the proper pronunciation and get it down pat.
Hopefully, she’ll be thoughtful enough to give us an update when she gets back home.
