Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel went viral for a hilarious and unorthodox reason in the team’s Black Friday game against the New York Jets last week.
More specifically, McDaniel was spotted wearing sneakers that were several sizes too big for him:
Kay Adams and San Francisco 49ers superstar wideout Deebo Samuel — who worked with McDaniel in San Fran for three years — couldn’t help but poke fun at the enormously large shoes donned by the 40-year-old.
Adams hosted Samuel on the FanDuel TV program “Up & Adams”, where the Pro Bowl wideout recalled a hysterical conversation from McDaniel some years ago.
“Mike, bro, you know your feet are not that big,…But in reality, he swear his feet is that big,” Samuel said, before adding that McDaniel’s shoe size is about 1.5 sizes too big.

McDaniel was the 49ers’ running game coordinator from 2017 to 2020 before getting promoted to the offensive coordinator position in 2021. Mike LaFleur held the passing game coordinator position but left to take the OC job under Robert Saleh with the New York Jets, allowing McDaniel to take over as the OC.
McDaniel’s excellent one-year tenure in that position led to him landing the Dolphins’ head coaching job. He led the club to a 9-8 record and playoff spot a year ago and has them in position to win their first AFC East division title in 15 years.
The 8-3 Dolphins will try to match last year’s win total when they visit the Washington Commanders this Sunday.
