After failing to land multiple major Running Backs this off-season, the Miami Dolphins are exploring signing free agent Running Back Kareem Hunt.
Hunt, 28, is coming off of a 4-year stint as a member of the Cleveland Browns, where was primarily a backup for Nick Chubb. The Dolphins are looking to upgrade their backfield to build around Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Hunt does have experience with former teammate and current Dolphins Wide Receiver Tyreek Hill, both of whom played for the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Dolphins have been involved in many trade rumors this off-season for Running Backs, but have missed out on all of them. Most recently the Dolphins made a reported deal for disgruntled Indianapolis Colts Running Back Jonathan Taylor, but the Dolphins backed out after the Colts asked for Jaylen Waddle.
Hunt hasn’t had a long-term starting season since 2018, but the Dolphins are looking at anyone to upgrade their backfield as they prepare for a rough season in the AFC East.
Whether the Dolphins will sign Hunt is unknown, but their urgency to trade or sign shows they are willing to put talent around Tagovailoa.
