The Minnesota Vikings are reportedly hosting a free agent running back this Friday in the wake of their releasing Dalvin Cook.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Kareem Hunt was due for a visit with the NFC North side today.
With Cook gone, Minnesota has Alexander Mattison as their starter in the position while second-year player Ty Chandler is expected to be his backup after putting on an impressive outing against the Seattle Seahawks in his team’s preseason opener on Friday.
Hunt, though, would make a great addition.
The 28-year-old was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017 and had a noteworthy rookie season as he rushed for 1,782 yards and 11 touchdowns to earn Pro Bowl honors and finish second in the Offensive Rookie of the Year voting.
He was released by KC the following year after a video of him assaulting a woman surfaced, though he was never charged.
