A former NFL running back who won a Super Bowl while playing for the Denver Broncos has been arrested for the offense of public intoxication whilst in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ Sports, police took Kapri Bibbs into custody on Sunday night, cuffing him while he was at the Fairmont Miramar in Santa Monica. Police records show he was booked at a station at 1:00 AM on Monday morning, though pertinent details were not made immediately made available.
The former back was allowed to leave several hours later and was hit with a misdemeanor citation that requires him to attend a court hearing in July.
Kapri Bibbs’ NFL Career
Bibbs went undrafted in 2014 but the Denver Broncos signed him to their practice squad before promoting him to the main roster in 2015. He would help them make it to Super Bowl 50, where they would beat the Carolina Panthers.
The 30-year-old later ended up with the Washington Football Team and joined the Green Bay Packers off waivers in 2018. He completed the season with 103 rushing yards, 115 receiving yards, three rushing touchdowns, 16 receptions, and one receiving touchdown.
Bibbs was released by Green Bay in June 2019 and was suspended by the NFL for a week in November. He hasn’t played in the league since, having switched his focus to music.
