Kansas City police have revealed whether the shooting incident that took place after the Chiefs Super Bowl victory parade was an act of terrorism.
Gunfire erupted at the end of said event on Wednesday, leaving one person dead and several others nursing injuries.
According to local authorities, the shooting wasn’t carried out by terrorists, but rather by people who were having a dispute.
“This appeared to be a dispute between several people that ended in gunfire,” KC Police Department Chief Stacey Graves said at a news conference on Thursday.
Graves added that detectives hadn’t found any evidence to suggest that the attack was planned.
She revealed that 23 people were hit in the mass shooting, including 43-year-old mother of two, Elizabeth “Lisa” Lopez-Galvan, who was killed. Eight of the 22 other victims are in critical condition, with at least half of them under 16 years of age and one as young as eight.

Two of the three people arrested are also juveniles.
The shocking incident has tainted what would have otherwise been a joyous celebration as most of the city came out to celebrate with the Chiefs, who beat the 49ers to win their second successive Super Bowl on Sunday.
As to whether or not this affects the way NFL teams handle parades remains to be seen.
