Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes showed support for the recovering Damar Hamlin ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs clash against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday.
The Buffalo Bills safety was the victim of a very unfortunate incident that left him hospitalized all week, having suffered a cardiac arrest on the Paycor Stadium pitch after a collision with Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins on Monday night.
Hamlin, 24, needed CPR to get his heart going again. And his uncle would later reveal that the player still needed to be revived upon arrival at the hospital as his heart stopped a second time once he got there.
The NFL has come up with a solution as it pertains to the playoffs, as well as seeding. The Chiefs and Raiders are in action this Saturday as they look to close out their regular season – and Mahomes showed up to the game wearing a red hoodie with a blue heart and Hamlin’s name on the front and a picture of the Bills safety with the words “Hamlin Strong” on the back.
What’s The Latest On Damar Hamlin?
As of Saturday, Hamlin had progressed very well. Doctors removed his breathing tube on Friday night, so he’s breathing independently. And he’s since communicated with Bills coaches and players via FaceTime.
