Can Zach Wilson still succeed in the NFL? If he can, it does not appear he will get another shot with the New York Jets.
The former No. 2 overall pick has likely played his last snap for the Jets as the team has told Wilson he will be traded in the offseason.
Following a tumultuous three years in New York, Wilson is almost certain to be playing for a new team in 2024 but where will he end up?
Boomer Esiason, the 1988 NFL MVP, is convinced the top draft pick will be traded to the Kansas City Chiefs.
“He’s gonna end up in Kansas City with Andy Reid,” the 62-year-old predicted.
“Andy Reid is gonna pick him up, take him off the scrap heap, and turn him into a QB.”
Wilson was drafted with high hopes and the No. 2 overall pick by the Jets in 2021. He never panned out. He showed flashes in a game here or there but he can never be consistent on the field and it led to him being benched several times over the past two years.

As a result, the Jets traded for Aaron Rodgers to take over his position last year, but unfortunately, the Super Bowl champion signal caller tore his Achilles in his debut and what should’ve been a year for him to ride the bench and learn from one of the greats turned into him being thrust right back in the lineup and playing badly.
Wilson would resume his regular starting role before being benched and later seizing the starting job once again. In 2023, Wilson played in 12 games, throwing for 2,271 yards, eight touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
If he winds up on the Chiefs, he’ll have to take a backseat to star Patrick Mahomes.
Mahomes is on the cusp of his fourth Super Bowl appearance as the Chiefs play the San Francisco 49ers on February 11th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for the championship.
