A Kansas City Chiefs superfan has gained notoriety for his passion and love of the AFC West football team. But this week, he’s making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Xavier Michael Babudar, known as “ChiefsAholic” among Kansas City fans, has been arrested for committing armed bank robbery at a bank in Bixby, Oklahoma. According to Tulsa County Jail records (via Max Molski of NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth), bail for Babudar has been set at $200,000.
Here are more details on the incident and arrest, per 2 News Oklahoma’s Emily Farris:
“Around 9:35 a.m. on Dec. 16, Bixby police responded to an armed robbery happening at the Tulsa Teachers Credit Union near 131st and Memorial. An eyewitness called in to report the robbery to the police and gave the description of the suspect and the direction he fled.
After officers arrived, they set up a perimeter in a nearby neighborhood where they caught the suspect trying to escape with a weapon and a large amount of cash on hand.”
If this story isn’t weird enough, it looks as though Babudar wore his signature wolf costume during the bank robbery:
There is speculation going around that Babudar was on his way to the Chiefs’ Week 15 road game against the Houston Texans prior to his arrest. The Chiefs narrowly avoided a huge upset and won 30-24 in overtime thanks to Jerick McKinnon’s game-winning touchdown run.

If convicted, Babudar faces the possibility in life in prison.
The Chiefs are 11-3 on the season and tied with the Buffalo Bills for the top record in the AFC, though Buffalo holds the head-to-head tiebreaker thanks to their Week 6 road win in Kansas City.
If the postseason started today, the Bills would get the AFC’s lone first-round bye, and Kansas City would open Super Wild Card Weekend with a showdown against the Tua Tagovailoa-led Miami Dolphins.
Kansas City will try to clinch a fifth straight season of 12-plus wins when they host the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday
