One of Kansas City’s most reliable offensive players will remain sidelined this week.
Head coach Andy Reid told reporters that running back Isiah Pacheco will not practice on Wednesday because of a shoulder injury.
The former seventh-round pick out of Rutgers has become an integral part of Kansas City’s offense.
The 24-year-old has racked up 779 yards and 6 touchdowns on 346 carries, averaging 4.7 yards per carry.
The Chiefs could ill-afford to lose Pacheco as they have been struggling lately. They have lost the last two games as well as three of its last four games. Their losses have allowed the Denver Broncos to get back into the AFC West race.
With Pacheco sidelined last week, Clyde Edwards-Helaire led the Chiefs’ backfield with Jerick McKinnon also seeing snaps. That would likely remain the case if Pacheco misses a second straight game. In his absence, the Chiefs were only able to rush for 82 yards.
