Watkins, known for his electrifying pace and ability to stretch the field, could inject a new dimension into the Chiefs’ offensive arsenal. With Patrick Mahomes behind center, Watkins could have a huge season.
Mahomes led the Chiefs with 4,183 passing yards. Mahomes threw for 27 touchdowns with 14 interceptions this season. On the ground, Mahomes rushed 75 times for 389 yards, averaging 24.3 yards per game.
Despite a couple of underwhelming seasons with the Eagles, Watkins remains an intriguing prospect for the Chiefs.
Primarily a slot receiver, Watkins set a career-best with 647 receiving yards in 2021. The former sixth-round pick returned just one kick last season but has 14 career returns with the Eagles.
Kansas City Chiefs Fighting To Become NFL’s First Team To Three-Peat
A repeat Super Bowl champion has happened nine times by eight different organizations and the Kansas City Chiefs are on tap to do something even better.
The Kansas City Chiefs are in a position to become the NFL’s first team to “three-peat” after they took down the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime in Las Vegas at Super Bowl LVIII.
The victory follows last season’s Super Bowl triumph over the Philadelphia Eagles and is the third in five years for the Chiefs who are the league’s newest dynasty after the New England Patriots ran the league for years with Tom Brady.
The Chiefs also beat the 49ers in the 2019 season. Patrick Mahomes was the game’s MVP in all three victories.
