Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes put the entire NFL on notice as he warned that the dynasty was only just beginning after winning Super Bowl 58.
But the repeat winners have already been placed behind another team in the early Super Bowl odds for 2025.
According to ESPNBet’s odds, the San Francisco 49ers are favored to win the chip in next season after suffering a crushing overtime defeat on Sunday night. The Niners are currently +500, with the Chiefs behind at +700 and the Baltimore Ravens following at +850.
The Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions are both +1100 while the Cincinnati Bengals are farther behind at +1400.
All of the aforementioned teams, save the Bengals, made the playoffs this year. Losing starting quarterback Joe Burrow with just half of the campaign gone certainly didn’t help. The Ravens were tipped to win it all after putting an incredible regular season together but ended up getting stifled by the Chiefs, who went on to beat the current favorites in an overtime thriller.
It appears the bookmakers are expecting the Chiefs and Niners to meet in next year’s Super Bowl, but Kyle Shanahan’s side has been tipped to get revenge after getting to within a single conversion of a championship win.
