The Kansas City Chiefs may have some good luck waiting for them at Allegiant Stadium for Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11.
While Allegiant Stadium was still under construction, one Chiefs fan buried a flag below it. Or did he?
There have been rumors about it for years after a picture showed a guy holding his Chiefs flag at the site seven years ago when the structure was built. many have been truly wondering if that story from 2017 was true and now we know the answer.
According to KLAS News, the story of the Chief flag being buried is a lie.
“He’s a fantastic Chiefs fan. He loves the Chiefs,” local labor union leader Tommy White told KLAS News, referring to DeCosta. “He’s been a longtime fan of the Chiefs.”
It turns out Raiders president Mark Badain contacted him to verify how true it was since the fan base was livid about it.
White, who oversaw the construction of the stadium, spoke to DeCosta and found out that he never actually did it. White then proved it by showing that infamous flag to KLAS News.

The Kansas City Star reached out to Gerard DeCosta and he added, “I’m pleading the 5th.”
Kansas City will match up against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on February 11th after both teams won their respective conference championships.
