The Kansas City Chiefs have added a pair of pass-catchers this Wednesday amid their receiving woes.
According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, the defending Super Bowl champions have signed wide receiver Anthony Miller, as well as tight end Izaiah Gathings. The Chiefs definitely need help at the receiver position, yet it isn’t clear as to whether Miller will be on the main roster or the practice squad.
The wideout was a second-round pick out of Memphis in 2018, with the Chicago Bears selecting him as the 51st overall pick. He scored seven touchdowns in his first year, going on to catch 52 of 82 targets for 656 yards in his second year.
Gathings, on the other hand, hasn’t appeared in a single NFL game since joining the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent last spring. He was with KC in training camp this year and was listed as a WR but didn’t make the 53-man squad.
While it’s presumed that they’re headed to the practice squad, it has not been confirmed.
