Heading into the AFC Championship Game, the team declared Kadarius Toney out with a hip injury and for “personal reasons.”
Many wondered what those personal reasons were, and we thought we had the answer on Saturday, when it was announced that Toney had become a father following the birth of his baby daughter.
That wasn’t the end of it, however.
This morning, Kadarius Toney went on Instagram Live and unleashed a NSFW tirade towards the Chiefs, claiming the team has been lying about his injury status for a while now.

After scoring a crucial touchdown for the Chiefs in last year’s Super Bowl, Toney struggled throughout 2023. He was expected to play a big part in the team’s offense this season.
Instead, he turned out to be more of a liability, with inexplicable drops in big moments.
With Toney absent, Patrick Mahomes has leaned on other, much-more reliable targets in Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice. Even Marquez Valdes-Scantling has stepped up his game in the postseason.
There was always the chance the Chiefs could bring Toney back into their lineup for the Super Bowl (should they make it there), but that options seems to be out the window following this latest turn of events. Don’t be surprised if the troubled wide receiver is cut in the next few days.
