Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney has appeared on the injury report for the NFL team’s past 12 games. He was not available to play last week during the AFC Championship game so he could be there for the birth of his first child.
On the morning of the AFC Championship Game, Toney took to Instagram Live and addressed his injury status. Saying he’s “not hurt” and urging someone to “go tell ’em what’s really going on.”
He also accused the Chiefs of mismanaging his injury designations. He said he didn’t have the hip and ankle injuries the Chiefs have recently listed for Toney on their weekly injury reports.
Fast forward to this week and Toney was fully removed from the Chiefs’ injury report and had been listed as a full participant yesterday for “not injury related/personal,” but is now 100-percent heading into Super Bowl Media Week.
Toney’s partner gave birth to the couple’s first child, a daughter, on Saturday.
Toney hasn’t played since a Week 15 game against the New England Patriots. That game is best remembered for him deflecting a Patrick Mahomes pass to a defender for an interception for the second time this season.

He was expected to carry a big workload this season, but he has just 27 catches for 169 yards and a touchdown.
Maybe he can do what he did last year in the Super Bowl when he caught one touchdown and returned a punt 65 yards to set up another.
