Standout Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross has sustained an injury in training as it’s been reported that he was carted off the practice field on Tuesday.
Ross, who gained popularity after helping Clemson beat Alabama in the national championship game in 2019, joined the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent last season.
He has been trying to get his football career back on track, having battled injuries since his college days and missing the entire 2020 season because of a spinal fusion.
Ross also sat out his first season with the Chiefs due to a foot injury but had impressed in training and preseason, having scored a touchdown against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. The wideout caught two passes and recorded 29 yards in the game.
According to ESPN’s Adam Teicher, the 23-year-old was carted off from practice today, though the reporter was not able to say what the injury was. Still, it must be a concern for a player who’s been trying to get going after being ravaged by various problems over the last few years.
The Chiefs have had to shuffle their receivers this year following the departure of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Ross, along with Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore, were expected to be the main men in the WR positions.
