At this rate, I don’t think there’s any doubt that Justin Tucker will end his NFL career as the best kicker in league history.
Sure, Adam Vinatieri may have be the guy with the biggest game-winning kicks on his resume. But based one everything we’ve seen, I’m quite confident that Tucker would be able to make a Super Bowl-winning kick from just about anywhere on the field if he were asked to do so.
It’s not like Tucker hasn’t had to come through in the clutch a number of times, either. Who could forget that NFL-record 66-yarder last year to beat the Lions with no time left on the clock?
Tucker’s latest heroics came last night, when he knocked through the game-winner from 43-yards out on Sunday night against the Cincinnati Bengals.
It’s pretty crazy how easy Tucker makes it look on a weekly basis. It kind of makes you wonder how he does it…
Not surprisingly, the most accurate kicker in league history actually has an answer for that. And based on how precise his kicks are, it probably won’t surprise you to hear how precise Tucker is when it comes to lining up those kicks.

In an older interview that resurfaced after last night’s performance, you can watch Tucker talk about how he lines up the bone in his foot with a specific dimple on the football when making contact on his kicks.
To be so precise, in such a high-pressure situation with so much going on around him, is no easy feat.
As he explained during his postgame interview last night, sometimes it just comes down to taking “those 1.3 seconds” to “just focus on the nuts and bolts of what’s gonna make the kick.”
NFL kickers can learn a lot from these two clips of Justin Tucker explaining how it’s done.
