The Arizona Cardinals had a chance to tie the game against the undefeated Eagles on Sunday, but it will be remembered for the 43-yard field goal that kicker Matt Ammendola missed in the final seconds. Had he made it, the game likely would have gone into overtime.
Naturally, many blamed the 20-17 loss on Ammendola for missing the kick and suggested he should be cut immediately.
Veteran guard Justin Pugh wasn’t having any of that, which is why he is going viral for lashing out reporters trying to place the blame solely on the kicker.
“It’s not one (expletive) guy,” Pugh said. “I missed a block. We missed touchdowns. We should have had the ball and been able to score. It’s not on one (expletive) guy.”
He then told him to “keep (his) (expletive) head up” so that they can rely on him another time.
Kyler Murray finished the game 28-of-42 with 250 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception plus 42 rushing yards on four attempts.
