Is Minnesota Vikings’ superstar Justin Jefferson growing unhappy in the Gopher State?
The Vikings and Jefferson were unable to reach an agreement on a long-term extension ahead of this season, for starters. Secondly, Minnesota is wasting a brilliant start to Jefferson’s 2023 season, having lost all three games despite him racking up 27 catches for 458 yards and a touchdown.
Thirdly, Jefferson posted a cryptic message on his Instagram story that read, “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”
Naturally, Jefferson’s mysterious message has left fans thinking that the league’s best wideout is hinting at a desire to be traded:

Jefferson hasn’t outright requested a trade from the Vikings, so take any trade buzz or speculation you see with a grain of salt during the season. If Minnesota were to trade Jefferson, it would most likely come in the offseason, when teams will be willing to give up max value for a superstar of his caliber.
The Vikings picked up the fifth-year option on Jefferson’s rookie deal this past offseason, so the LSU product is under contract through the 2024 season. Of course, building a true title contender around JJ would actually bolster the Vikings’ chances of keeping him long-term.
History, however, is not on Minnesota’s side. As noted by The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, only six teams have made the postseason following an 0-3 start since 1979. The 2018 Houston Texans were the last team to do so.
