A blockbuster trade proposal has the NFL’s best wide receiver heading over to a struggling AFC team in a move that would completely shake up the league landscape.
The Minnesota Vikings have dropped their first two games despite an incredible start from fourth-year wideout Justin Jefferson, who has 20 receptions and a league-leading 309 receiving yards heading into Week 3.
Jefferson and the Vikings were unable to reach an agreement on an extension before the start of the 2023 season. If Minnesota continues to struggle, and if Jefferson is unwilling to sign an extension in 2024, could the Vikings decide to trade their franchise star?
On X (formerly known as Twitter), the FanDuel sportsbook proposed a massive trade that has the Minnesota Vikings trading their superstar wideout to the New England Patriots in exchange for 2024 first and third-round picks plus another first-round selection in 2025.
The Patriots haven’t had a game-changing wide receiver of Jefferson’s caliber since the Randy Moss days. Without a doubt, the LSU product would instantly bolster a passing game that has struggled mightily since Tom Brady’s 2020 departure.

So Jefferson definitely makes sense as a trade target for New England, should Minnesota put him on the trade block. But only time will tell if the Vikings decide to go that route.
In an ideal world, of course, Jefferson will agree to a new deal that will easily make him the NFL’s highest-paid non-quarterback offensive player.
