Despite what fans and analysts may think, Justin Herbert does not want his head coach to go anywhere. The Los Angeles Chargers QB apparently still believes in head coach Brandon Staley even after Saturday’s stunning collapse in a playoff loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
“We believe in Coach Staley,” quarterback Justin Herbert said, per Bridget Condon of the NFL Network. “We believe in the front office.”
Los Angeles built a 27-0 lead by the second quarter of Saturday’s contest and it appeared as if the franchise would be headed to the next round. Then, they took their foot off the gas pedal and the Jacksonville Jags took full advantage of it on every possession to get back in the game.
Austin Ekeler scored two touchdowns, and the defense intercepted Trevor Lawrence four times, and it still wasn’t enough for the Chargers to not choke the game away.
The Chargers have failed to win a playoff game in three seasons with Herbert as their quarterback. Talent doesn’t appear to be the issue, so naturally, people will point ot leadership with Staley.
Perhaps a better coaching staff could have capitalized on a roster that was loaded with stars on both sides of the field.

Only time will tell if the Chargers front office decided to make a move.
