Will Chicago trade its top draft pick or its current quarterback? That is just one of the big reasons why Justin Fields had to make a big decision.
Justin Fields set the record straight about the Bears Instagram drama amid his uncertain future in Chicago. Bears social media went into a frenzy Monday night when fans noticed Justin Fields was not following the Chicago Bears’ official Instagram.
On Wednesday, Fields appeared on the “St. Browns Brothers” podcast on The 33rd Team and stated he unfollowed the Bears to get away from all the talk.
“Why do people take social media so serious?” Fields said. “I’m just trying to take a little break. I unfollowed the Bears and the NFL. I’m not just trying to have football on my timeline. … I’m about to go on vacation, I don’t want to see no football.
“…It’s either ‘keep Fields’ or ‘draft Caleb.’ …I just want it to be over.”
Fields also went viral when people noticed that he follows some Atlanta Falcons players, including Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and Bijan Robinson.
“I’ve been following them for a minute,” he said.

A recent report from Sports Illustrated noted that other teams across the NFL began inquiring about a possible trade for Fields at this year’s Senior Bowl.
After a disappointing 7-10 season, Chicago is back on the clock. Chicago secured the No.1 overall draft pick from Carolina in addition to their original No.9 overall pick.
Chicago would likely want to have Fields’ situation sorted out before the NFL Draft this spring so they can have a smooth transition to Williams if/when he is the No. 1 overall pick.
Fields threw for 2,562 yards, 16 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in 2023.
