Netflix’s ‘Quarterback’ has been an absolute hit. The first season of the series features Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariotta, with a second season now approved.
It will be interesting to see who gets cast in the next round. But one QB has revealed having turned down the opportunity as he’s not interested right now.
Justin Fields is headed into a high-pressure situation in what will be his third season in the pros. Having shown significant improvements last term, the expectations will be heavy given that GM Ryan Poles has made sure to surround the signal-caller with the tools he needs to succeed.
It’s why Fields is keen on avoiding any unnecessary distractions. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, the QB revealed that the streaming platform reached out to him but he doesn’t think he will oblige them.
“But they actually did reach out and I don’t think I want to do it, just because I’d rather keep everything the way it is around here,” he said.
“Just having cameras around the building, I think that might change the vibe of everyone. I just want to keep it natural and organic and really just focus on what’s going on in the building. Maybe down the road, but I don’t think I see myself doing it this year at least.”

This sort of thing wouldn’t be new to Fields. He was one of the quarterbacks who starred in ‘QB1: Beyond the Lights’ while in college.
Though he isn’t interested in featuring in ‘Quarterback’ for now, Fields has left the door open for possible future participation.
